Why does VIM BERKSHIRES have eligibility guidelines?
VIM BERKSHIRES must set guidelines to best utilize the gifts of our volunteers and donors and to assure that the people who are most in need of our services receive them.

How to use these guidelines: These guidelines will help you decide whether you and your family can receive medical care at VIM Berkshires.

Residence: Berkshire County and the towns which adjoin southern Berkshire County: Canaan, North Canaan, Colebrook, Norfolk, Lakeville, and Salisbury, CT; and Ancram, Austerlitz, Canaan, Copake, and Hillsdale, NY.

Age: You must be 19-64 years old.

Health Insurance: You must be uninsured. Uninsured means you do not have: Health insurance, either privately or employer paid, or Mass Health, Medicare or Veteran’s care.

Income: Your family’s gross income (before taxes) must be within the income guidelines listed below. Family means nuclear families and their dependants who live together in a household.
